Duties
An Assistant Officer II is mainly deployed on supervising persons in custody, young offenders in training / rehabilitation / detention centres and drug addicts in drug addiction treatment centres; and performing any other assigned duties.
(Note: Subject to the provisions of the Prisons Ordinance, an Assistant Officer II is required to wear uniform and work shifts and may be required to undertake hospital nursing duties and live in departmental quarters.)
職責
二級懲教助理主要負責監督在囚人士、教導所／更生中心／勞教中心的青少年罪犯及戒毒所的戒毒者；以及執行其他獲指派的工作。(註：獲聘人士須受《監獄條例》規管、須穿着制服及輪班工作，或須從事醫院護理工作；以及入住部門宿舍。)
Terms of appointment
A new appointee will be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
聘用條款
獲取錄的申請人會按公務員試用條款受聘，試用期為三年。成功通過試用期後，受聘人士或可獲考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款聘用。

Candidates who are arranged for the physical fitness test will normally receive an invitation by email after the submission of application. Requirements
- Candidates should [Note (2) under Entry Requirements]-
- (a) (I) have a Certificate of Enrolment (Part I) (or a Certificate of Registration (Part I)) and a valid practising certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (entry pay: $27,110 per month); or
- (II)(i) have Level 2 or equivalent [Note (3) under Entry Requirements] or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) [Note (4) under Entry Requirements], or equivalent; or (ii) have Level 2 [Note (5) under Entry Requirements] / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note (4) under Entry Requirements], or equivalent (entry pay: $25,980 per month); or
- (III)(i) have Level 2 or equivalent [Note (3) under Entry Requirements] or above in three subjects in HKDSEE [Note (4) under Entry Requirements], or equivalent; or (ii) have Level 2 [Note (5) under Entry Requirements] / Grade E or above in three subjects in HKCEE [Note (4) under Entry Requirements], or equivalent (entry pay: $25,265 per month); or
- (IV) have completed Secondary 5, or equivalent (entry pay: $24,555 per month); and
- (b) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note (5) under Entry Requirements] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; or had a pass result in the Assistant Officer II Language Test (Chinese / English) [Note (6) under Entry Requirements]; and be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English;
- (c) be able to pass a physical fitness test [Note (6) under Entry Requirements]; and
- (d) have a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) [Note (7) under Entry Requirements].
- 申請人必須[入職條件註(2)]：
- (a) (I)持有由香港護士管理局所頒發的登記證明書(第一部)(或註冊證明書(第一部))及有效的執業證明書(入職月薪：27,110元)；或
- (II)(i)在香港中學文憑考試五科考獲第2級或同等[入職條件註(3)]或以上成績[入職條件註(4)]，或具備同等學歷；或(ii)在香港中學會考五科考獲第2級[入職條件註(5)]／E級或以上成績[入職條件註(4)]，或具備同等學歷(入職月薪：25,980元)；或
- (III)(i)在香港中學文憑考試三科考獲第2級或同等[入職條件註(3)]或以上成績[入職條件註(4)]，或具備同等學歷；或(ii)在香港中學會考三科考獲第2級[入職條件註(5)]／E級或以上成績[入職條件註(4)]，或具備同等學歷(入職月薪：25,265元)；或
- (IV)中五畢業，或具備同等學歷(入職月薪：24,555元)；及
- (b) 符合語文能力要求，即在香港中學文憑考試或香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科考獲第2級[入職條件註(5)]或以上成績，或具備同等成績，或在二級懲教助理中／英文筆試中取得及格成績[入職條件註(6)]；並能操流利粵語及英語；
- (c) 通過體能測驗[入職條件註(6)]；及
- (d) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績[入職條件註(7)]。
